Auction Air
AuctionAir
- sealed bid, you pay to place a sealed bid - fee lowers as you place
more bids.
Auctionair is a unique "sealed-bid" auction designed originally
for airline passengers, but now enjoyed by "grounded" bidders
from all over the world via the Web.Because it's a "sealed bid",
this is convenient for travellers, and - more interestingly - almost anything
can happen!
There are some lots which are free to bid on - look out for them ...
from their site:
It's fun
It's convenient. You don't need to keep coming back to check the bidding.
You might get a bargain
Unlike other auctions there is:
no buyer's commission
no hidden VAT
no other hidden extra charges.
Here's how it works
Here's how it works
All bids a sealed bid. This means that no one can talk you up. Just bid
the most you are prepared to pay. Not knowing what the other bids are
is all part of the fun!
You pay a small entry fee to place your bid (to cover our costs) - £5
for the first bid, £15 for the next five bids, and less than £1
a bid when you make 29 bids.
Bids are not binding. This means that you will not be held to your bid.
If you win the bidding, you can always change your mind.
The main closing date is usually 3 - 4 days after the end of each month.
Auctionair™ is unique.
Auctionair invented it for airline passengers as the smart way to make
the most of their in-flight time and launched our first auction on British
Airways in July 2001.
Since then we have been so delighted by the positive reaction that we
are now available to anyone (over 18) who would like to take part.
We have had over 2,525 successful bidders who have either made an incredible
dream come true or landed some cracking bargains, or both! (Results)

We have raised over £130,000 for our charity partners, who have
included ORBIS, The United Nations Foundation, The Charles Darwin Foundation,
Marie Curie, Sight Savers and Virgin Atlantic's Change For Children.
