What out for dodgy auctions and what to do if the worst happens |
Don't miss out on vital free listing days! |
Auction Alert! Watch out for the following points - they're a bit odd and you should be wary of users who :
Pictures lifted from a web site , not of the actual item in their possession. Dody text whihc sells you a photo of the item not the item itself.
Seller has good feedback but from buying and selling cheap stuff.
Now they are selling plasma TVs etc - Indicates the account may
have been hijacked. Newly created seller has mountains of electrical goods all listed on the same day. None will have pictures of the actual items.
I'm bidding on an item and they have offered me a similar item, should I accept? No. Stay using the ebay service and you get the protection you're able to get from ebay. If it sounds too good to be true then think at least twice why!
If the worst happensI need to take someone to court as a result of an eBay transaction, what's the easiest way? There is a website operated by the UK Court Service located at www.moneyclaim.gov.uk which allows you to either instigate, or respond to, a claim. The maximum
claim amount is £100,000 but there are restrictions and advice
on usage of the service located at: www.courtservice.gov.uk/mcol/userguide/index.htm |
